- He then served as an assistant professor in department of ophthalmology,Government Medical College, Surat.
- He started private practice in 1987 in Surat and has grown from strength to strength.
- He was founder secretary and President of South Gujarat Academy of ophthalmology.
- He has organised many successful conferences and has presented scientific papers at state and National level conferences and at SAARC conference.Heads Dr. Sachdev eye Hospital at Surat which has three associate ophthalmologists and a staff of 60 and a satellite centre at Amroli and Parvat patia which are the suburb of Surat.
- He was organizing secretary of the Gujarat Ophthalmological Conference, All India strabismological conference and All India glaucoma conference.
- He has attended international conferences and courses at Seattle,Sanfrancisco,Boston,Cairo, Hongkong,Munich & Berlin.
