Dr. R. K. Sachdev

Dr. R.K. Sachdev started his practice on 2nd August 1987 at Surat. He was one of the pioneers in starting Phacoemulsification in Surat. Dr. Sachdev is a mentor to a lot of leading ophthalmologists in the state. He associated with the leading ophthalmologist in Surat to start an Eye Laser Clinic which was one of the first Group Practices in the country and the first of its kind in Gujarat. Dr Sachdev was the first surgeon to bring in Excimer Lasik in Solo Practice in Gujarat. He established Dr Sachdev Eye Hospital at Makaipul in 1987 and then shifted to larger premises at Timaliyawad. He started a tertiary hospital at Parle Point followed soon by Dr Sachdev, founder secretary and president of South Gujarat Academy of Ophthalmology. He has proved his skills as an organiser and he was the organising secretary for the Gujarat Ophthalmological Conference, All India Strabismological Conference and All India Glaucoma Conference.
